Five reasons this workshop is for you!

Let's start at the beginning and get some questions out of the way. Do any of these statements resonate with you?

  1. Who would actually want to spend their time taking a sales workshop?

  2. Who is this workshop for?

  3. Who is Jill and what does she have to offer me?

  4. How hard is selling art that I need a whole workshop for it?

  5. I don’t want to be cliche or cringy. I’d rather just be authentic and natural when it comes to selling my art. I don’t think this is for me.

Let's dive in!

1. Who would actually want to take a sales workshop?

Anyone who is passionate about their art and selling that art, so they can make more art.

2. Who is this workshop for?

Anyone who believes the myth that “if the art is good enough it will just sell”. It does not matter how wonderful your art is, if you are not engaging with your customer on their level, or they are offended they won’t part with their money.

3. Who is Jill and what does she have to offer me?

Hi! I’m Jill, and I am really good at engaging with and making genuine connections with my own customers.  In addition, I have spent the last 15 years telling stories, and selling feelings, ideas, and concepts for a living.
When I began setting up my table at art markets and fairs, I observed within a few hours  that I was interacting with my customers in a way that other vendors were not. In some cases, I was the only person interacting with customers while other vendors pointedly did not interact at all.

In this workshop I will share my many years of knowledge on how to connect with people, why it’s important, and how the art of storytelling is key to selling your art and ideas.

4. How hard is selling art that I need a whole workshop for it?

It’s not hard at all, but many artists and makers are still intimidated by interacting with their customers. In this workshop we examine your prices, the anatomy of a conversation in the sales setting, and learn that we don’t need to fear or be intimidated by our customers.

5. I don’t want to be cliche or cringy. I’d rather just be authentic and natural when it comes to selling my art. I don’t think this is for me.

Having an elevator pitch, back pocket full of your own stories, and interacting with your customers is not cringy or cliche, it is smart business sense.
The aim of this workshop is to help artists and creatives learn the basics of sales in a way that is pleasant and not pushy, invasive, or manipulative. The customer will leave the interaction feeling happy with their art purchase and the artist with money in their pocket. We do this by exploring the role of storytelling, confidence in pricing, and making connections as part of the sales process.
