Entering the New Year with Gratitude
Despite the above image declaring a big wonderful bursting celebration into the new year, I feel like it might be more appropriate to tiptoe into 2022.
I seem to have found some balance in 2021, but it's precarious, and I don't want to disrupt the delicate nature of things. My brain is a jumble of thoughts, happy, sad, and everything in between as I think on the last year. I think we can all agree - it's been a lot.
I have hopes, dreams, wishes, and plans for the new year, but again they are made with the utmost care. In honor of that balance, I will walk into this new year with gratitude in my heart.
I am grateful that I am safe, I have a roof over my head, food in the pantry, and my family is healthy.
I am grateful for hot tea on chilly mornings, and snuggly chihuahuas in fuzzy blankets.
I am grateful for my family, my friends who have become family, and all the people who have enriched my life for the better.
I am grateful for the trails I hike each day, the ocean for it's beauty, the mountains, trees, and our beautiful planet. May we protect her better in 2022.
My Intentions for 2022
This year I have many goals and intentions for the new year, but they all fall into one main category.
Self betterment
I plan to focus on improving my skills in grammar and punctuation, so that each blog post and newsletter does not feel like such an overwhelming & daunting task.
I plan to improve my skills as an artist.
I plan to improve my skills as a human by focusing on my mental health and taking care of my body, mind, & soul.
Happy new you to you all. I hope the new year treats you with care, fills you with love, and bestows health to you and your loved ones.
All my love,
Jill
